green tea, hd, contests, scholarships and other fantastic endeavors.

A few weeks ago, my friend Cathy asked me to help her with a video. She said it was for a contest for her fiance, to get a scholarship. The video was to be a short video about the benefits of drinking whatever sort of tea you wanted to make it about, in a kind of funny, quirky, downbeat, creative style. That night I wrote up a little script, which was then heavily shortened, both for time and content.

Anyway, the final product has been up on youtube for almost a week, and has gotten quite a bit of attention.

I want to tell you how excited I am for this video. Definitely one of my favorite videos to work on, even on par with fatman cometh. However, what makes this video so special to me is that it is my first ever work done in HD, which of course, is going to be how I edit all my videos from here on out, unless I somehow end up working with real film.

I'm kind of taking a little break, but I still have a few more videos that need editing, so I'll do that soon. Please watch the green tea video, because it is for a contest and the number of views is factored into judging.

And if you like what you see, and want a copy for yourself, ask me to make you a dvd of some videos and I'll make you one.

Enjoy.

16 OS - Get That Cash feat. Young Presidents.

At long last, here is the video for "get that cash." I filmed it in april, with some help from matt golden, of matt golden photography. It was a very interesting shoot, considering I've only done a few music videos, none of them being rap. So, I began editing around the same time as the no relief tour trailer. What I managed to not realize was that I had never even seen a rap video before, so I had no idea where to even start. I put together a very rough cut, watched it, and hated it.

I then decided to actually watch a few rap videos. I hated them too. So I would try and get through various stages of finished-ness before I would decide that it wasn't right, and start over. Some inspiration came a few weeks ago from some indie rock videos. I then knew what I wanted to do. A rap video that didn't look like a rap video, but a matt dickstein indie rock video. I had my direction. Obviously, it's got some rap influences, the quick cuts at the beginning, a few of the effects, the fact that it's still a rap video, no matter which way you look at it.

But, it was boring. I needed something else, then I saw this video. And I had some more inspiration. So then I went through and added some embellishments to the video.

The final product was done on adobe premier elements 3.0. I used the "three-d" transition for the color effects used throughout the video, and honestly I wouldn't mind making an entire video using that effect, because I love it that much.

So, here it is, the music video for "get that cash" by 16 OS featuring Young Presidents. Let me know what you think.

just because.

I haven't updated in a while, but creativity is flowing, and it isn't showing any sign of slowing, so I might as well keep going. I'm working on a video with a few people, and considering its for a contest and it has to be posted by august 2nd, it'll be posted soon. We're still shooting, but I'm going to go into editing soon. Fun stuff.

But the really super exciting thing is that I'm going to be working with matt golden of matt golden photography on a video soon, and we're both very excited about that. Amongst other things, its looking to be a very busy time for video-ing. Get that cash is also nearing completion, so look out for that (and if 16os reads this, I am sorry that its taking forever, but I hope it will be worth the wait.).

peace, love, stuff.

kris mcdaniel.

http://krismcdaniel.blogspot.com/

Kris McDaniel is the pastor at trinity vineyard, where I go to church. This is his blog. The way he commands the words, and his knowledge of scripture is absolutely amazing. He isn't like any pastor I've ever encountered and has this humble, relatability that anyone searching for a very personal and intimate church encounter can dig.

So check it out. Good stuff.

completely unrelated ps.
I've been working on a video a whole huge bunch, so that shouldn't be too much longer. Also some writing. And drawing. And a few poems I haven't released. Just a whole bunch of cool stuff. Oh, and check out the links over there >. Check out matt golden's photography. He's got mad sills.

the hands of peace and love.

I drew this a few days ago using pastels, maybe my favorite thing to draw with. It's supposed to be the hands of Christ. In His hands, I wrote peace and love, in Hebrew (shalom, ahava), because that's kind of what He was all about, and I thought it would be cool if it looked like He was holding these ideals in His hands, pierced at the wrists for our transgressions. (I know it may have been is palms, but I'm not here to start a debate over something as trivial as where He was pierced.)

the infection.

so, about 2 years ago, I wrote a zombie movie called the infection, hoping to channel some kind of 28 days later vibe. It's like my favorite movie. So, I got a few friends and my camera and tried to film the script. That pretty much crashed and burned. This is what came of it, and I'm pretty proud of it. It also features the "cinematic" debut of the jewmobile.

Anyway, I was in New York about a year ago, and I got the script read. They said it has potential, but it needs to be tweaked, so in my free time I'm working on the next draft of it. Maybe some day...

anyway, enjoy the trailer.

the no relief tour trailer.

If you ever get the chance to check any of these four guys out, do it. Whether together or not, these four guys are not something to be missed. They haven't really toured in a while, but I hope they do soon, because they put on an amazing show. The song is "no relief," written by tyler lyle. I did some interviews with the guys and threw together some concert footage to kind of try and get the feel of what their shows are like. Hope you like it.
